It keeps a check on the quality throughout its production cycle, from receiving raw materials to the delivery of finished products. It also ensures that the quality of drugs is in absolute compliance with the local regulatory & GMP requirements. To achieve the quality objective consistently, Herbion has designed and comprehensively implemented an independent Quality Operations Department. The Department is supervised by qualified personnel and is provided with all the essential equipment and facilities. The effectiveness of the system is constantly monitored, assessed and enhanced as required in reference to current international standards.
Research and Development has always been of great value to Herbion and is considered the backbone for the company's future. Over a period of two decades, Herbion has progressively fortified its expertise in research and development to roll out optimum quality, efficacious and safe natural formulations in the global market.
Herbion's research and development division is well equipped with up-to-date facilities including laboratory scale machines and quality control instruments. New formulations are developed after a vigilant study of ingredients, conducted by qualified experts in the respective fields, who go through several pharmacopeias, authentic reference materials and consultations with leading scientists working in various renowned scientific research institutes in Pakistan and in foreign countries. The pilot batches are then produced in state of the art product development facilities. After conducting rigorously designed in-house testing procedures, the products are sent for toxicological studies on animals to reputed scientific institutions. After obtaining satisfactory results, clinical trials are arranged in different medical institutions. Subsequently, positive feedback from clinical trials leads to products being finally recommended for commercial production and then to post marketing clinical trials in different countries. Herbion has strategic collaborations with leading institutions, specialized in plants and plant based medicines, in Russia, USA, EU, China, India and Uzbekistan, for managing extensive clinical studies on variety of natural medicines.
