Design, Development and Phytochemical Evaluation of a Poly Herbal Formulation Linkus Syrup

The present work has been carried out on polyherbal formulation named as Linkus Syrup. The herbal formulation consists of Glycyrrhiza glabra, Hyssopus officialism, Piper longum and Alpinia galangal. The Linkus syrup physico-chemical evaluation such as pH, density, identification of polysaccharide, tanning agents, ascorbic acid and shelf life was complied. The TLC and quantitative determination of alkaloid were quantified. Determination of bio marker has been validated for the analysis of vasicine. The study result revealed that Linkus syrup formulation was well standardized at different levels such as physic-chemical consistency and assay of bio marker compound.

Efficacy and Safety of Verona in Patients with Oligospermia_ Meta Analytical Insight and Management

Different studies have been conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Verona, a polyherbal formulation for in the treatment of oligospermia at the different Centers of Medical Sciences, hospitals and Clinics. Patients at the different centers diagnosed with idiopathic oligospermia were recruited and administered Verona at a dose of 2 capsules bid for varying periods of time scale in months. In meta-analytical approach, the values for semen measurements were determined such as low sperm count, poor sperm motility and abnormal shape that best discriminate between fertile and infertile men and to evaluate the relative value of standard semen measurements values.

Evaluation of Acuteand Repeated Dose Toxicity of the Poly herbal Formulation Linkus Syrup in Experimental Animals

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the pre-clinical efficacy and toxicity of polyherbal cough syrup Linkus. Method: Animals (healthy Wistar albino rats; (150 – 250 g) of either sex) were housed under standard environmental conditions; i.e. 25˚C ± 1˚C and 12 h dark/light cycle. Food and water were available at libitum. The rats were treated orally with the recommended doses of the test drug (Linkus).

Design, development, and evaluation of antimicrobial activity of herbal antiseptic wound pad-neemplast

There is growing demand of polyherbal formulations in the world market. The present study aimed to design, develop, and evaluate the antiseptic activity of herbal wound pad Neemplast containing distillate of Neem leaves (Azadirachta indica) and Black pepper (Piper nigrum) and the oil of clove (Syzygium aromaticum) and Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globules). The plants have been reported in the literature as having good antimicrobial, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. Various formulation batches were prepared and evaluated for various parameters like colour, appearance, pH, weight per
ml, assay identification and antimicrobial activity.

The Management of Hypercholesterolemia with Herbal Medicine

It is the condition that is characterized by increased concentration of lipids or fats (triglycerides, cholesterol) and low density lipoproteins in the blood  and decrease in high density lipoproteins. This increase of lipids in the blood can lead to serious heart diseases and pancreatitis. Most of the time
hyperlipidemia has no symptoms and usually it has been diagnosed on routine lab investigation or during secondary investigations held primarily for other symptom or disease. Once baseline lipid levels are determined, they should be checked and controlled for every 3 to 4 months, or at least once a year.

Phyto-Analytical Evaluation Of Rutin In Viola odorata L., (Banafshan)-An Expectorant

Viola odorata L., commonly known as banafshan, is widely distributed in Pakistan. Medicinally it used as expectorant. In present study a rapid and inexpensive qualification method for the quality control of Viola odorata on thin layer chromatography (TLC) was developed and validated on silica
gel using solvent ethyl acetate–glacial acetic acid–formic acid-water (10 : 1.1 : 1.1 : 2.6 v/v)/v/v) (Rf of silybin 0.48 ± 0.05) in the absorbance mode at 254 nm. The method showed a good linear relationship (r2 = 0.999) in the concentration range 25–1500 ng per spot. It was found to be linear, accurate, precise, specifi c, robust and stability-indicating and can be applied for quality control and standardization. Also occurrence of rutin was figured out in different parts of plant. It was found that corolla of Violaodorata flower contain rutin in much higher concentration than calyx, while calyx have more rutin content than dried leaves, which in turn contain higher content of analyte than fresh leaves (figure1&2)

Development and Clinical Evaluation of Polyherbal Laxative Laxisen

Constipation being one of the most common and frequently occurring symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders is high in prevalence rate, causing economic burden and badly effecting quality of life. Multiple research studies have been carried out to clinically evaluate, assess and address the treatment
for both acute and chronic constipation in adults. However limited evidences are available for the efficacy of available treatment options for the management of constipation. This study is a prospective, open labeled, uni-center and observational clinical trial and was carried out at out-patient department
of clinical medicine at Jinnah Medical Center, Korangi, Karachi, Pakistan to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of polyherbal formulation Laxisen in 35 patients with complaints of constipation. The study drug was administered for 1- 2 weeks for acute and 1-6 weeks for chronic constipation patients. After following up patients for specified time period complete remission of constipation was observed and the drug was found significantly effective (p < 0.003). The mean weekly frequency of
bowl movements was 9.95 for acute constipation while 9.23 for chronic constipation. Significant increase in frequency of the bowl movements was observed for all patients.
